south indian curry

Today is Tuesday and a very nice summer day. it’s very hot and good for the vegetables we are growing. I hope for a good amount of rain. I observed that rainwater grows vegetables much faster and greener than regular city water. today I am in amood to try something very different for lunch. its acurry dish from southern part of India. flavor full an nutritious. Ingredients I am going to use is very healthy and good with strong Indian flavor. Few years back when I went to Banglore, Indian city I learnt that, thats staple for people living there, Very intresting and unique flavor.


1cup of white lentil.

one fourth cup of gram flour.

1 tea spoon of salt.

1 teaspoon of chilli flakes.

1 teaspoon of mustard seeds.

Take cup of lentiles and soak them in water for 24 hours . so they are sft enough to grind. Next day wash them and put it in blender until a smoth paste is formed. Then take cup of coconut oil and make donut shape and fry the lentile paste until its golden brown. off the heat ane prepare the ingredients for making curry.


Teaspoon of mustard seeds.

Teaspoon of ginger paste.

Teaspoon of garlic paste.

2 green chopped chillies.

Teaspoon of methi seeds.

Tablespoon of cumin.

half cup of chopped kale.

1 teaspoon of samber powder.

Take a deep pan , add 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and on the heat add all the spicesthen cook them for 30 seconds until lillie brown then add cup of tomato puree and cupkit for 5 minutes, then add chopped kale and 3 cups of clean water. Cokok it fot 10 more minutes then add fried lentle donuts in to thr curry, cook them for 15 minutes on medium heat. Off the heat and serve them in anice bowl. put spoon full of coconut chutney on it to make it more flavor full.

Recipe for coconut chutney.

take half cup of fresh grated coconut, half teaspoon of salt . one teaspoon og ginger paste and one green chilli. Blend the ingredients in a blender to make a smoth paste. Its ready to serve withthe dish we made.

spices we used are full od poly phenols, antioxidants and vitamins and minerals.

Garlic and ginger is heart healthy and anti bacterial properties good for getting rid of unwanted fat.

kale is full of Iron, vitamin C , folate and minerals that are essential for good health.

coconut is very heart healthy and have good cholestrol that is essential for body.

so over all all the ingredients we used have good for digestive system and overall health. specially foe weight loss and if you want to try some thing different and totally unique and very strong flavor. coconut chutney is a perfect match fot this curry , lentile dish. I local language they call it Vada with coconut chutney and indian curry. I hope you guys will like my authentic south Indian recipe straight from India.
